VOLUNTEER UPDATES
Bushcare training meeting February 18th 9:00am
The long awaited first formal training session for bushcare volunteers will be held on Saturday 18th February 2012.
The session will be an introductory and induction kind of session suited to begginners and volunteers who have not yet done any formal training.
Topics covered will be:
What is bushcare?
Safety at a bushcare site.
What are weeds?
How can weeds be effectively treated?
There will be an opportunity in this session to practise skills taught.More advance training may then be available for those who would like it. There is a limit of 15 places at this session,so please book early.
The training is part of the Trust's Powerful Owl Habitat Restoration Project and will be provided by Hill Bushcare, a local private company. The project is funded by a grant from the Australian Government's, Caring for Our Country grants program.
